Fernando Miguel Jalôto

Miguel studied at the Early Music and Historical Performance Practice Department of the Royal Conservatory, the Hague (Netherlands), where he completed the diplomas of "Bachelor of Music" and "Master of Music", studying with J. Ogg. Miguel attended master-classes with G. Leonhardt, O. Baumont, I. Wjuniski, J. Ogg and K. Haugsand, and studied Baroque Organ and Clavichord.

Miguel has also received a "Master of Music" from the University of Aveiro (Portugal). Miguel is the regular basso continuo player (harpsichord, organ and fortepiano) for the Lisbon-based Baroque Orchestra Divino Sospiro (E. Onofri) and guest harpsichordist at the Orquestra Barroca da Casa da Música in Oporto (L. Cummings). He performs often, both as soloists and as continuo player, in Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Bulgaria and Japan.

Miguel was a member of the Académie Baroque Européenne de Ambronay and has performed with the Lyra Baroque Orchestra (Minnesota) and Real Escolania de San Lourenço d’El Escorial, the Norwegian National Broadcasting Orchestra and the Camerata Academica Salzburg. He has the pleasure of working regularly with musicians like J. ter Linden, E. Wallfish T. Koopman, R. Goodman, Ch. Pluhar, E. Onofri, R. Alessandrini, Ch. Banchini, A. Bernardini, Ch. Coin, J. Ogg, Ch. Rousset, W. Becu, L. Cummings, F. Biondi, A. Florio, H. Christophers and M. Brabbins. Miguel teaches harpsichord, continuo and early music at Porto's Conservatory and at Évora's University.
